How to Join


Membership provides the opportunity to usher at over 100 venues in the Chicagoland area including Steppenwolf, North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, Timeline, Harris Theater, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Auditorium Theatre and many other music, dance and performance companies.
Ushering sign-ups are managed using the on-line "Usher Module" through the Saints web site.  
"CyberLine" is a bi-weekly email that contains ushering opportunities for performances within the next couple of weeks.   

The Saints have a group membership in the League of Chicago Theaters.  Emails will be sent from the League with information about Industry Nights.  Our Saints badge allows access to these industry nights for a nominal price.  

Members are not required to volunteer for a minimum number of shows.  Members decide on their own which shows they want to see, when and how many.

To date, The Saints have awarded close to a million dollars in grants to local not-for-profit performing arts organizations in the Chicago metropolitan area.  We also have a "MatchGrants" program near the end of the year in which we match donations from members to the performing arts organizations of their choice.  So far, we've matched about $40,000 of our members' donations.

  • Each member is required to have her/his own individual email address. You must have access to a computer and be able to use an Internet browser.  
  • Membership dues (effective April 1, 2019) are $100.00 per person for the first year and $80 for subsequent renewals made no later than May 31.  NOTE that this renewal amount is not guaranteed as dues may change annually.
  • The dues for new members 35 years old or younger is $45. Proof of age is required annually.
  • The minimum age for joining the Saints is eighteen.
  • The membership year begins on June 1 and ends on May 31.  New members can join as early as April 1 and get two "free" months.  
  • Members must renew annually by the end of the membership year (May 31) in order to maintain their membership regardless of the month originally joined.  
  • You may renew and pay annual dues by credit card or check.
How to join (Start by attending an orientation):


1. Register to attend a New Member Orientation:  Schedule Orientation
  • Select the Orientation that you wish to attend.
  • Click the button labeled "Register Now".
  • You will be asked to supply contact information, including your individual email address and to "sign" our Membership Agreement.
  • Don't forget to click the "Complete Registration" button at the bottom. 
  • NOTES: Complete registration generates an Email Confirmation.  IF you do not receive that Email, you are not registered and may not be admitted to the Orientation. 
  • Each person must complete a separate registration.  
  • Registration closes when the Event is full.  Unregistered walk-ins may not be admitted to the Orientation.
2.  Attend the New Member Orientation (required).  
  • At the Orientation you will learn more about the Saints. 
  • There is no obligation to join.
  • People who decide to join are asked to pay their dues.
  • Your Saints badge will be issued when dues are paid. 
  • At some Orientations, optional Saints gear may be purchased from The Saints Shoppe (bow ties, small neck pouch, flashlight).
3. Once you join, start enjoying the benefit of Saints membership.
